Welcome to SportsSteps (“we,” “our,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, mobile apps, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using SportsSteps, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to use SportsSteps.
- If you are under 18, you may only use the Services with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Children under 13 may not create or hold accounts. A parent or legal guardian may create and manage a private profile for a youth athlete in their care; the child is not an account holder. By doing so, you represent that you are that child’s parent or legal guardian and are responsible for the profile and any content posted on the child’s behalf.
- By using SportsSteps, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Account Registration
- To access most features, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. Use of Services
You agree to use SportsSteps lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Post harmful, abusive, obscene, or illegal content.
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
- Harass, exploit, or endanger other users.
- Interfere with the functionality of the platform.
- Use the Services for unauthorized commercial purposes.
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
4. Coaching and Transactions
- SportsSteps facilitates connections between athletes, coaches, fans, and sponsors but does not employ or endorse any specific coach.
- All coaching arrangements, payments, and services are agreements between the involved parties.
- We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcome of coaching services.
5. Payments
- Payments for coaching or other paid features are processed by third-party payment providers.
- By using these features, you agree to their terms and policies.
- Fees are non-refundable unless required by law.
6. User Content
- You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, videos, messages, etc.).
- By posting, you grant SportsSteps a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Services.
- You are solely responsible for your content and must have the necessary rights to post it.
No Tolerance for Objectionable Content or Abusive Behavior
SportsSteps has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to post, send, or share content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, exploitative of or endangering minors, violent, or otherwise objectionable, and not to harass, bully, or abuse other users.
We provide tools to keep the community safe. You can report any post, comment, message, or user, and you can block any user so they can no longer see your content or contact you. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive behavior and act on them — including removing the content and ejecting the offending user — within 24 hours. You can report content using the report option on any post, comment, message, or profile, or by emailing info@sportssteps.com.
7. Intellectual Property
- SportsSteps and its logos, trademarks, and software are owned by us and protected by law.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
- You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer any part of SportsSteps without our consent.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
- Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful conduct.
- Threaten the safety or integrity of the Services.
You may delete your account at any time directly in the app at Profile → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, posts, comments, messages, follows, and any child profiles you manage, subject to limited records we may retain as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
- SportsSteps provides the Services “as is” without warranties of any kind.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free performance, or specific results.
- We are not liable for third-party content, services, or actions.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- SportsSteps and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SportsSteps, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Services.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your content or interactions with other users.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new “Effective Date.” Your continued use of SportsSteps after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ohio.
