(“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of athletes, coaches, fans, and sponsors (“you,” “your”) who use our website, mobile apps, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information. By accessing or using SportsSteps, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account details: name, email address, username, password, age, and profile details (e.g., sport, position, team, coaching expertise).
- Content: photos, videos, highlights, posts, direct messages, comments, and other materials you share.
- Child profile information: if you are a parent or legal guardian, you may create profiles for the youth athletes in your care, including a name, date of birth, sport(s), and photos. This information is provided by you, the adult account holder — children do not create or hold accounts. See “Children’s Privacy” below.
- Booking/payment information: when scheduling coaching sessions, subscribing, or completing transactions.
- Communications: inquiries, feedback, support requests, and content reports.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device and usage data (IP address, browser/app version, operating system, log files, crash data).
- Location information (if you enable location services in the app).
- Cookies and similar technologies (to personalize your experience and analyze traffic).

- Payment processors (for secure transactions).

Deleting your account. You can permanently delete your account at any time directly in the app: go to Profile → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts, comments, messages, follows, and any child profiles you manage. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes. You may also request deletion by contacting us at the details below.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no platform can guarantee 100% security. Please keep your account credentials secure.

Depending on your region, you may have rights to:
- Access, update, or delete your personal data.

8. Children’s Privacy
Account holders must be at least 13 years old. SportsSteps accounts are for adults and teens aged 13+ — children under 13 cannot register, log in, or use the Services directly, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts or knowingly collect personal information from them online.
Parent-managed child profiles. A parent or legal guardian may create and manage a profile for a youth athlete in their care. The child is not an account holder and does not log in or interact with the app — the parent enters and controls all of the child’s information. By creating a child profile, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and consent to our handling of that information solely to provide the Services.
Child profiles are private by default. A child’s profile is not publicly discoverable — it does not appear in search, discovery, or recommendations. It is visible only to the managing parent/guardian and to the specific people the parent expressly approves (an allowlist the parent controls). Posts made on a child’s behalf are likewise restricted to that approved audience.
Parental control. The managing parent/guardian can view, edit, grant or revoke access to, and delete a child’s profile and its content at any time from within the app. To request assistance with, or deletion of, a child’s information, contact us at the details below. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account directly, we will remove it promptly.
9. International Users
If you access SportsSteps from outside the United States, please note your data may be transferred and processed in the U.S. with different privacy protections than your country.
10. Changes to Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a revised “Effective Date.” Continued use of SportsSteps after updates means you accept the revised policy.
